Wed night – Sharing the salvation message.

During Spring 2012 series “A Diary of a WImpy Follower: Pete the Repeat”, we helped 125 5-8 graders and leaders focus on some of the mistakes that repeat over and over again, and how Peter disciple did something very similar.  As we neared Easter, I communicated that Jesus died for those sins.  Then, Peter was used mightily by God, even after his mistakes.  We just have to invite Jesus into our hearts.

Based on Peter’s many stories primarily in Mark and John.

Wed night – Stephen — Dodging Rocks

Week 12 of the “Diary of a Wimpy Follower” Wed Night Series. 145 5-8 Grade students together learned all about Steven and his final message before his horrible death by stoning.  Students were challenged to lay down their rocks and stand up for Jesus like Stephen did in Acts.  Students learned that God will give us the strength to stand strong in adversity, even when we may feel wimpy!

Wed night – Smelly Hair= Smelly Life

In our Spring 2012 series “Diary of Wimpy Follower: Mary- Smelly Hair= Smelly Life” 140 5-8 grade students had a memorably scented experience.   Through the use of a bottle of lavendar scented oil, the students were challenged  to live lives that had the aroma of Christ like it talks about in 2 Corinthians.  Mary left Jesus’s presence smelling like he did, we should do likewise.
